SEO for business: Tools I use
There are so many SEO tools out there but choosing the best option for your small business can feel a bit overwhelming. Where do you start?
I’ve written about the free tools available from Google before and looked at some other free SEO tools that I believe small businesses should be using but in this post, I want to talk about some tools that I use when I start working on SEO campaigns. Tools that help you get a good idea of the starting point, can highlight issues, and help point you in the right direction going forward.
Keyword Planner
Keywords are the basis for any SEO. You need to find and choose the right keywords so you attract the right customers. Google’s Keyword Planner can help with keyword research and selecting the right keywords for your business.
Screaming Frog
Screaming Frog is a crawling tool that allows you to crawl a website and identify issues on a bulk level. Analyse and audit technical and onsite SEO. You can crawl 500 URLs for free.
Google Site: Search
Want to see exactly how your website is being displayed in Google search results? Go to Google and type “site:www.yourwebsite.com” into the search box. It’s a super simple way of highlighting visibility issues and it can help you find a bunch of URLs that shouldn’t be there too.
Google Search Console
Use Google Search Console to see stats and information on how Google sees your website. It flags errors and fixes that could be implemented to improve your SEO campaign.
PageSpeed Insights
Page speed is a big ranking factor that you need to ensure that your website is as fast as possible for the benefit of both users and search engines. Use Google’s PageSpeed Insights tool to check your speed and get suggestions to make that page faster.
